What does a photo widget do?
A widget is a small area on your phone’s Home Screen that shows content without opening an app. A personal photo widget usually shows pictures you choose from your own library. A shared photo widget receives photos from people you invite. The difference is who supplies the pictures, not just how the frame looks.
Where PicPie fits
PicPie is for sharing photos with friends and family. You create or join a group called a Pizza, then add that Pizza’s widget to your Home Screen. Photos appear in a sliced collage, so several shared moments can sit together instead of filling the whole widget with a single picture. It is a shared space with invited people, not a public photo feed.
Choose a widget for the way you share
If you want a fixed holiday picture, a personal gallery widget may be enough. If you want today’s small moments from your best friends, a shared widget is a better match. For a mixed iPhone and Android group, check that the app supports both phones. Each person still adds a widget to their own Home Screen.
A widget is not an instant-delivery promise
Sending a photo and refreshing a Home Screen widget are separate steps. The phone controls when background updates are displayed. A successful send does not guarantee that every friend’s widget changes at that exact second. Open the app to check the shared content if the widget has not caught up.
